What is the difference between men’s walking and hiking trousers?

Walking and hiking trousers are multifunctional and can be used for many different activities. What sets them apart is the features we have incorporated into the design. Choose trousers and the features you need based on what you will use them for and how you want them to fit. For extra flexibility and mobility, strategically placed stretch panels make it easy for you to move and be active. If you often get warm while hiking, ventilation zippers at the side of the trousers encourage airflow and help cool you down.

What trousers should you use for hiking?

It can be hard to choose men’s hiking trousers as there are so many to choose from. There are many smart and functional features available to support you during your hike. To protect your knees during tougher hikes and climbs, trousers fitted with pockets for knee pads is a good choice. Boot hooks are also an awesome feature to hold the leg opening to your boots thus preventing the trousers from going up. If you often get warm during a hike we recommend trousers with ventilation zippers at the side of the trousers allowing for better airflow. All our hiking trousers are made from durable materials, and some are equipped with Hypershell® Reinforced™ which is a water repellent material that keeps you dry during light rain. If you want to protect your trousers a little extra, we recommend that you treat them with fluorocarbon free waterproofing spray or RevolutionRace Heat Wax. Can you wear walking trousers when it is cold outside?

Walking trousers are great to use in many temperatures, but it depends on how warm you are and how easily you freeze. We recommend that you dress according to the layering principle with a base layer underneath the trousers. For really cold days, we have lined winter trousers that help you keep warm more efficiently.

When can you wear walking trousers?

Walking trousers for men have a wide range of uses, you can wear them for most outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, mushroom picking, kayaking or mountain biking.
